The Boston Herald has a good rundown today of some of the Masonic inaccuracies in the movie "National Treasure."
I guess you can expect some artistic license in any film, but I cringed my way through this one. NT a semi entertaining action flick, but as one who lives for Templar themed mysteries, I was terribly disappointed in the cavalier way nonsense was tossed about as historical fact, especially because the real story is much more interesting. I've also got to take exception to the choices the Herald writer has made in explaining "inaccuracies," as Masonic/ Templar connections are almost certain (and not exactly repudiated by the Masons, either, who incorporate Templar symbols everywhere they can cram them) Finally, the chestnut that the Great Seal has no connection to Freemasonry is about as disingenuous as the claims of Illuminati conspiracies on the other side.
