"Genealogy of Christ" discovered in Wlsh Library, Ancient Remains, Humanism, Santana Suit

Thursday April 28, 2005

A Four-hundred year old book named The Genealogy of Jesus Christ has been uncovered in the Welsh National Library. Curiously, about half of the sections in the book dealing with Mary Magdalen have been scratched out.

A number of ancient skeletons have been uncovered at a development site in Fakenham, England. They are over a thousand years old and believed to be part of an early Christian settlement.

Here's a great interview with an Irish Humanist that does a good job of cutting through misconceptions about what it means to be a humanist.

Here's another odd lawsuit: a former employee of Carlos Santana is suing the rocker, claiming he was fired for not being "spiritual" enough.

Today marks the beginning of the five day Roman festival Floralia, the ancestor of modern May Day festivals. The festival celebrated Flora, the goddess of flowers, with decorations of flowers and wreaths and offerings of milk and honey.
