Confused Police, Witch Doctor Sued
Friday July 29, 2005
Looks like the NYPD need some sensitivity training, or at least some practice at identifying religious dress: a group of five Sikh sightseers were handcuffed after a bus driver decided they "looked suspicious."
A "Witch Doctor" in London is being sued by a client whose son was having trouble in school. The magician promised to remove a "curse" that was preventing him from doing well- for $5,000. The amount would ostensibly cover the cost of an alligator sacrifice. (I wonder what a tutor would have cost?)
Cops investigating a homicide in Nanticoke, Pennsylvania, have uncovered an array of "occult" items in a suspect's home, including (I kid you not) a "666" sticker, some gothic tzotchkes ( gragoylesa star shaped candlestick, , etc.), a Giger art calendar, and the most frightening, satanic objects of all..a crucufix, and some holy water. Time to call in the exorcist? I feel like we're re-living the eighties.
A Catholic hospital has installed a "meditation romm" for the use of non-Catholics..as longs as "non Catholic" also means "non-Wiccan," that is (or Voodoo, or..).
