Witch Persecution, Tom Cruise Spoof, Pagans in the News
Tuesday October 18, 2005
India has had another rash of witch persecution, with one woman narrowly escaping death after accusation she had killed a child with magic by crawling through a window. Women in Jharkhand were not so lucky, with a woman and her daughter raped and another woman's body recovered from a riverbank. A policeman in Chhattisgarh has admitted he murdered a man and drank his blood in an attempt to cure a mental illness.
A website lampooning Scientology and it's high profile adherent Tom Cruise has been slapped with a cease and desist by Church attorney. I'm sure they're quite pleased with themselves.
Madonna: Hypocrite extraordinaire. Perhaps I could take her seriously if she wasn't wearing an outfit that costs more than my car.
We also have a couple of lukewarm Pagan/Wiccan profiles:
Wiccans and other pagans in UK prisons will be allowed ritual implements including wine, robes, incense, and tarot cards.
If you recall the Utah teacher who claimed to have been fired from a Mormon school after accusations of witchcraft, here's a bit of news on her lawsuit.
I always wondered how you would do this: Man sues God

A Wiccan Life (nice pics)
Witchcraft Is In The Wind (It should be noted that the author and the subject of this peice are both reportedly a bit disatisfied with the editing)
