Weird Week

Sunday November 27, 2005

This is another week of weird, only this time a creepy sort of weird. A Chicago teenager got the idea that the way to win back his estranged girlfriend would be to perform a virgin sacrifice to Satan- and to that end, kidnapped himself a little girl. Fortunately, the would be tragedy was averted before any real harm was done. Here's an even stranger 'attempted sacrifice' story.

Some Christians are offended that a University of Kansas course on creationism includes the word "mythology" in its title, after a professor got a little in-your-face about his opposition to the "religious right." (Apparently, the aforementioned can dish it, but they can't take it?)

Another well-meaning Christian sets out to define neopagans and misses the mark.

Interesting: Not in Kansas Anymore (book review)
