Moral Satanists, Dominionists' Idol, Witch School, Vodou Priestess

Monday July 10, 2006
Did you know that North Carolina was the "Satanic capital" of the US? The Pastor goes on the rant that Satanists are:
"community leaders, doctors, lawyers, housewives and possibly even preachers. There are many false and ignorant claims about Satanism. The majority of those who call themselves Satanists are law abiding and moral citizens. "
Well, gosh, how dare they go around behaving like good citizens!

To be honest, it's another sort of 'infiltration of society' that worries me. Check out "Lady Liberty" as envisioned by Christian Dominionists, holding aloft her gigantic cross. I'm not sure I can think of a better illustration of 'unclear on the concept.' (Witness the sort of 'liberty' that ensues when one religion dominates)

A "Witch School" in Illinois gets mixed reactions from locals Most folks are making an admirable attempt at tolerance, but I found the comments from folks who seem to believe that Wiccan-owned businesses can (or should) be blocked. (follow-up article here)

A Christian Pastor in Ghana also appears to be 'unclear on the concept.' Pastor Elijah Awadu, of the "Jesus Miracle Prayer Group," was arrested after beating up an elderly woman to 'exorcise' he of evil spirits, and for cutting down trees he believed were attracting witches.

The quest to exonerate a midwife convicted of witchcraft in eighteenth century Virginia has been successful, albeit a few centuries too late to do her any good.

The San Francisco Chronicle interviews New Orleans Vodou Priestess Sallie Anne Glassman, who does an excellent job of explaining what it means to serve the Spirits.

I am ashamed this country stand with such hypocrisy. How can we keep running into other countries telling them how to be FREE when we have a problem with it!

It’s so sad, people get hungry they just don’t know what to do with themselves.
