Templars, Crowley
Thursday October 12, 2006
Tommorrow will be the 700-year anniversary of the arrest of the Templars, and by happenstance will fall on the same day- Friday the thirteenth- as it did the first time around. This is THE day which forever marked Friday the thirteenth an unlucky day, making it a foreboding coincidence. With a Pope in office whose former job was head of the Office formerly known as the Inquisition, (now retitled a much less intimidating "Congregation for the Doctrine of the Faith," whatever that's supposed to mean) and he was known to be actively investigating the Templars. In any case, this will be a significant date to a number of folks and it should be interesting to see the day unfold. Given that quite a few folks are sore with the Pope for a variety of popes, I wouldn't plan any visits to Rome on tomorrow, either.
Today is also the anniversary of the birth of Aleister Crowley , who's been a bit of a news item himself lateley, usually under the usual monikers of 'infamous Satanist' (untrue) and 'Wickedest man in the world' (unlikely).
