Romuva Solstice
Tuesday January 23, 2007
Here's a little gem I found in the Baltic Times, relating in some detail the Solstice celebrations of Romuva, the revival of Lithuania's traditional Pagan religion. Romuva is unique in some respects, having a relatively brief period of dormancy before its revival- Lithuania was particularly resistant to Christianization, and didn't fully succumb until the fourteenth century. Romuva also has the distinction of being the fist established Neopagan religion, appearing some thirty years before the establishment of Wicca.
