In The Secret: The Spirituality of Narcissism, musician/blogger Stuart Davis details many of the things I find apalling about "The Secret," an unsubtle New Age/Self-help mashup that does for Hermetic principals what the 'prosperity gospel' did for the Bible. In short, it takes two thousand years of profound gnostic philosophy and turns it into a get-rich-quick*-lose-weight-now-cure-all ego-stroking mess.
