Potter Stays, Mallory Sulks
Mallory's less-than-clever argumenbt against the books is that they are religious-witchcraft, of course- and claims they violate the church/state separation clause- which she personally rejects all the same: "have a dream that God will be welcomed back into our schools." I think it's fair to say she has one in particular in mind. In any case, she's not done yet- Mallory claims she's planning to head to federal court next, so summer entertainment will be had, I'm sure.

Oh My Goodness…..took a sip of coffee just as I opened the page to the story about the “Book with violent themes censored in Hong Kong” and almost had a big mess on my hands, my keyboard, my monitor…LOL.
As for Ms. Mallory: “Mallory, sometimes breaking into tears, read testimony from a teenager who said reading the books led her to contemplate suicide.”
Well, antidepressants cause teens to contemplate suicide, but I don’t see anyone NOT handing out the drugs. (Was the girl taking antidepressants?)
Further: “Quoting a counselor who testified at a previous hearing, Mallory said the Potter movies and books led one boy into high-risk behaviors, such as dangerous motorcycle stunts and bungee jumping.”
I’ve read the Potter books and I don’t recall any motorcycle stunts or bungee jumping in them. I suspect the young man got those ideas elsewhere….ya think?
Respectfully suggest Ms. Mallory goes to Hong Kong…
