And if you believe the pastor of Bethesda Baptist Church in Saginaw, they burned it down while performing a bible-burning ritual:
"We think something pagan was going on in here, something sacrilegious"The sad truth is that a bunch of unsupervised miscreants committed a criminal act, but rather than ask where were the parents of these kids, it's more gratifying to look for a conspiracy- why blame three or four misbehaved teens when you can alienate an entire faith group? This is sad on so many levels all at once.
A reader points out a similar story in France, where heavy metal enthusiasts have been implicated in several church burning/vandalism incidents. Again, the blame is broad:
"This area was heavily influenced by druidism, and many Christian sites were built on places sacred to the old religion. Maybe certain people want to return them to their roots"
