An interesting story about some very unusual items unearthed in a pair of old churches in New Jersey. Would you believe animal sacrifices, liquor bottles, cauldrons, bullets?

1st of all we kill our pets when they are old and sick to put them out of their misery, euthansia. However, witches did NOT do animal sacrifices. Chances are this was a beloved pet that someone wanted to have a sacred burial.
Interesting about the bottles. I heard that there was a tradition now called Witche’s Bottle and people who were being prayed for were symbolically placed into bottles (rather the prayer or energy for the prayer) for example for protection. It could be that they collected the whiskey bottles for the glass and shapes, didn’t really drink it, but used the bottles to do prayers/spells for people. Just an idea.
This guy calls himself an ‘archaeologist?’ That implies ’scientist’ and scientifically, I’d like to know how he draws the conclusion that the cat was killed in the course of ritual sacrifice. As I recall my Christian history, before and around the time America was invaded in 1492, it was common Christian practice to ritually kill dogs, cats, snakes and other animals believed to be witches in animal form.
Considering these are the animals that keep rats in check, this is largely blamed for the spread of the plague.
