Dragging Out the Satanic Scapegoat
The headline pretty much says it all: "Could the horrific murder of an Oklahoma pastor be the work of a satanic cult?"
The article is referring to the recent murder of Pastor Carol Daniels in Oklahoma, found dead in her own church naked, posed with arms outstretched, and brutally stabbed. police have been very tight lipped on any further details of the crime, although they have stated "we have no suspects" and, according to the article writer, "they do not believe Daniels‘ murder is linked to any satanic cult activity."
So, wait a minute...why are we suggesting it might be Satanic? I mean, yes, I suppose it could be a Satanist. But it could have just as easily been an accountant. Or a McDonald's employee. Or any other random walk of life you might name.
And the smoking gun according to this writer? There's an Oklahoma City Satanist Meetup group with 25 members, despite the fact that the public information officer for the local police stated that she was unaware of any Satanic cults operating in the area.
Clearly this guy has no idea how Satanists generally operate, what they believe, or what they strive for. He seems equally uninformed about how Meetup groups work. Grizzly murder does not equal Satanism.

Grizzly murder does not equal Satanism.
I agree with you that it’s not Satanism, but I don’t think the local wildlife got her either. ;-P
This sounds personal to me. Someone was really angry with this woman. There was overkill in the stabbing. Her hair was burned. Her clothes were taken, leaving her naked. They left her in a crucifix position, which probably relates to her being a pastor. Someone is either really angry at her for her personal behavior, or angry at a woman being a pastor. It does not sound like any type of cult activity.
If you view the world as for or against you, you will develop a world view of black as opposed to white. Good versus evil. What is supposed to be as opposed to what should be. What should be rarely happens and we regale the opposite effect as evil. I got a suggestion: ask yourself the question what would lead another person to accept the opposite belief of yours and try to begin to understand what led them their own thought. I got a hint; it wasn’t “just” to oppose you.
Brenda is right on the mark here. Who ever did it has a direct and personal connection to the victim. There is a deep and personal hatred and anger here. I believe that she knew her assassin either directly or indirectly. As Brenda pointed out there was tremendous overkill. It may be someone who she counseled or who’s spouse or other relationship she was involved with. Perhaps a man who’s wife was told that she should sever ties with him. I also believe it was a man rather than a woman, basically for the same reasons.
OK, this latest comment on the Examiner story just had me rolling in laughter:
“In reply to Anthony, human killing is no longer acceptable! Is this by you or Satin! Please Satin can only do what evil that God allows! God is still in control! You call Satin Master? Have you ever in read the good side! If you believe in Satin than you can’t deny God can you? I would like you to read a true story, will you? If so go to Newsvine.com and read drophate and believe! Also what part of Ok do you live in?”
Satin Master? Sounds like a brand of carpet. Or maybe the latest and greatest brand of paint. I find it incredibly amusing when the religious are so daft as to not know the basic spellings of deity within their own pantheon.
I also agree with Brenda. The Bible Belt traditions have plenty of anger and violence within themselves, without looking for it in another group.
If you want to find satanists in Oklahoma, you need to go between the towns of Mannford and Cleveland. City officials are involved, and yes…..cult-style killings. Human remains have been discovered in that area in the 90’s….and I personally know a survivor who claimed to have witnessed ritualistic mercy killings there, but escaped and managed to get help. I didn’t believe it at first, but a few days after this person told me this tale….human remains were discovered in the exact same area my friend told me he was, and it was reported in the newspapers. Very chilling story, and I believe him.
