The Fortean Times offers a lengthy article on the place of magic and occultism in the Second World War. Plenty of people have heard about Hitler's own occult interests, but what is less well known is the number of magical undertakings performed or at least rumored to have been performed in Britain to counter the German offensive.
Such tales are often difficult to research. After all, to publicly announce in the mid 20th century that you're a magic worker is likely to earn you nothing but derision. On top of which, how does one prove that such a thing had been attempted, much less was successful?
