February Articles

Follow me on:

This month has been a sort of potpourri of articles.  First, coming back around to the Raelians, I've added a profile of Rael, their founder and prophet.

Second is an introduction to shamanism, an often abused and misused term.

The third is an article on the relationship between religion and fiction, and how one can influence the other.  Rather than implying that religion is fictional, or at least that religion inspired by fiction should not be taken seriously, I consider fiction to be one of many ways we express various ideas and beliefs.  Just because they are set in a fictional world doesn't mean they cannot be relevant in our own.

The fourth is about the common misconception that the occult is inherently Satanic.  Other articles on the occult make it clear that neither the term nor the practices is tied to Satanism, but this one addresses why the connection has been made at all, and the fact that such connections are relatively new.
