The Satanic Infernal Names

By , About.com GuideJune 11, 2012

Follow me on:

This week I finished up a long outstanding project: the origins of the Infernal Names Anton LaVey names in his Satanic Bible.  While he describes these beings as devils and demons in a variety of cultures, they are frequently deities in their respective cultures.  Many of them are honored as heroes and protectors, not in any way vilified.

I confess I am not familiar with every single figure LaVey references, particularly the African and Asian ones.  Since I am not familiar with them, I cannot say if they are obscure or if LaVey has used some non-common form of their name.  In those cases I simply quote LaVey.
