Testing Spirit Mediums, Positive and Negative coverage of Pagan belief
Monday January 17, 2005
Are there folks who really speak to the dead? University of Arizona Professor Gary E. Schwartz tests Spirit Medium Allison Dubois and answers criticism from James Randi. More on Dubois here. More on Schwartz's research here.
The Maine Press-Herald is running a positive interview with author Dorothy Morrison, touching on Magick and Wiccan beliefs.
On the down side, Judi McLeod of the Canada Free Press still feels that "faith based funding" shouldn't go to Pagans. Her argument appears to be that the folks she calls "dancing Druids" and "Pan fanciers" have no tolerance for Christians. The irony of her own intolerance seems to have escaped her, and in two disjointed editorials, she still doesn't appear to have formed a coherent argument in support of her ridiculous position. If you'd like to correct any of Ms. McLeod's misinformation or misconceptions about American Consitutional Law or Pagan religious beliefs, you canwrite her- but don't expect much of a response outside of snarly, sarcastic comments.
