Eclipse During Papal Funeral
Wednesday April 6, 2005
Here's one that will get the sign-watchers going: An eclipse is expected during the Pope's funeral this Friday. The rare "Hybrid Eclipse" is expected to last about three hours, and will be visible mainly in New Zealand. The interesting bit, of course, is that according to the Prophetic list of Popes attributed to St. Malachy, the apellation corresponding to John Paul II can be translated "of the Toil of the Sun" or, "Of the Eclipse of the Sun."
Here's a good example of the kind of stupidity you see when religion/state boundaries are blurred: police in India are investigating a best selling author in India. The alleged Crime? Offending the religious by writing in memoirs that in youth, he had been aroused by nude statues of the Goddess Saraswati. The "crime" carries a sentence of up to two years in prison.
