Father Ted for Pope, Nifty Scottish Tourist Attractions
Thursday April 7, 2005
If you're considering a bet on the next Pontiff, a little homework is probably in order (Thanks, Mark).
An amusing account of the recreation of a nineteenth-century Seance: A moving experience deep in the city's vaults.
Also interesting in Scotland: the legendary "Witch's Kirk" in North Berwick, Scotland, where, a massive gathering of witches supposedly took place in 1590 to curse King James, who afterward became a dedicated witch hunter. (In ironic related trivia, the Scottish word "Kirk" and the English "Church" are both drawn from European Pagan names for places of worship, and mean circle.)
