Mandatory Blessings, Olga de Alaketu, Rosslyn Chapel Mystery Solved (A dozen more to go?)
Sunday October 2, 2005
There's an interesting controversy brewing over FEMA's handling of the dead during their Katrina recovery efforts. Seems somewhere along the line, FEMA acquired a rule requiring a chaplain to 'bless' every body recovered, a rule that apparently extends to civilian contractors as well. Best quote: " "A prayer is not necessarily religious. Everybody prays." Say what?
Olga de Alaketu, the extraordinarily popular 80-year old High Priestess of Candomble, died today. She presided over Ile Maroia Laji, one of Brazil's oldest Tereirros.
I tried to read this to the end, but my eyes kept rolling.
A Scottish composer claims to have cracked the mysterious musical symbol-code carved into the Rosslyn Chapel ceiling.
Black magic at the pole?
