Satanic Panic, Halloween Preaching, Witchcraft in History

The days leading up to Halloween are probably not the most fun time to be a Satanist. It is the season for hysterical, innaccurate rants about the devil, Samhain, alleged Lord of the Dead, and other fairy tales. It's pretty ironic when the children get the candy and the grownups go looking for the bogeyman.

Speaking of cherished mythologies, the "burning times" as historical fact is taking a beating by historians. Also: Ergot in Salem? (More Historical Witchcraft)

If you're feeling nostalgic for eighties-style Satanic panic, it seems to be attempting a comeback.
