Weird Cops, Ukrainian Magic, Wiccans Challenge Discrimination
Saturday November 19, 2005
A New Zealand police officer's Satanic metal band has landed him in a heap of controversy. And if this cop isn't weird enough for you, try this one: Inspector Devendra Panda, goddess.
Here's an unusual little gem, a smattering of Ukrainian Magick.
Florida's Supreme Court is about to hear a very interesting case, brought by a Wiccan group- Orlando based Wicca Religious Cooperative is challenging a state tax exemption on the sale of religious books. The State allowed exemptions on the sale of religious Bibles and Korans, but the group was refused the exemption for Satanic and Wiccan books.
Retailers are saying "Happy Holidays," and some won't take that lying down. (And Walmart barely avoids a boycott by firing an employee who was a little too free with the truth)
