Opus Dei & Hypocrisy, Pope Chides Freedom, Affluence, & Science, Harry Potter Ban Redux
Conservative Catholic organization Opus Dei is so upset at how they come off in the Da Vinci Code that they are demanding a disclaimer. Of course, they don't seem to feel other groups are deserving of the same consideration they demand for themselves, opting to print a friendly little cartoon about Mohammed burning in hell.
Not to be outdone by his predecessors, Pope Benedict lashes out at scientists "Playing God," "frivolous freedom," and affluence. (This coming from a guy wearing a diamond studded cross and designer shoes?)
Of course, the Pope isn't the only guy talking to God and getting weird answers.
Is it really news anymore when yet another "concerned parent" who hasn't read the book she wants to ban demands the removal of the "Satanic" Harry Potter?
Illinois condo owners are now assured their right to display religious symbols without interference from overzealous management. The lawsuit was sparked by the forcible removal of a mezuzah from a woman's door.
Finally, we have another ridiculous Tom Cruise rumor- this time, the claim that he wants to eat his wife's placenta. Is there some contest to come up with this stuff that I haven't been let in on?
