No Bibles for Schoolkids, Philip Gardiner, Da Vinci's Naughty Secret, Islam

Saturday May 6, 2006
Remember the North Carolina school district that wanted to allow religious groups to pass out literature in schools? It seems that after facing the possibility that some of the religious groups wanting to join in weren't groups they fancied, they had a change of heart- so no Witches' bibles for students, and no Gideon Bibles, either.

Does Philip Gardiner have the Truth behind the Da Vinci Code? The Grail scholar has his own ideas about what's been hidden and by whom.

Speaking of hidden things, has a member of our forum found a naughty Da Vinci secret?

The Virgin Mary is roosting in yet another tree, but her son prefers a bit of hide and seek, popping up in a dental x-ray. There are some interesting developments in the Muslim world. Morrocco, in an effort to promote a more tolerant Islam, are appointing fifty female preachers. Meanwhile, Sufism is gaining popularity in the world, especially in Saudi Arabia, where the once-banned sect is once more tolerated. Not so in Iran, where 52 Dervishes were recently declared a danger to Islam and sentenced to be flogged. This was followed up by a prison sentence for their lawyers for defending them.
