Solstice, Pagans in the Bible Belt, Big Trouble Over Jesus Cartoon

Pagans are very much in the public eye this month, with the summer solstice approaching, and ever more entries into the fight to have the Wiccan pentacle approved for use in the grave-markers of US veterans. The Fla. Ledger has descriptions of several Pagan solstice-happenings, with a nod to othewr faiths that celebrate the solstice. The Tennessean has a suprisingly positive article about a thriving Pagan community in the heart of the bible belt.

Masonic Traveler looks at the Masonic Saint Johns' festival, another solstice holiday.

The Da Vinci Code phenomenon has inspired even evangelical Christians to take inspiration from apocryphal scriptures- in this case, the Didache, a text immensely popular amongst early Christians but eventually dicarded.

Authorities in Singapore are 'investigating' a man for possible sedition charges after he posted a humorous cartoon of a zombie Jesus on his blog.
