Witch Camps in Ghana, Christians Vs. Censors, Scientology Tutoring Controversy, Hurrying the Apocalypse

Thursday June 22, 2006
Over a thousand women in Ghana, mostly elderly and widowed, are living like refugees in exile, hiding from would be witch-hunters who would beat torture, or kill them.

A football movie with a religious theme is pitting Christians against the MPAA, claiming the agency is bigoted against Christians for slapping the film with a 'restrictive' PG rating. (Yes, you read that right)

The ghastly, deceptively titled “Public Expression of Religion Act” aims to discourage victims of Church-state entanglement by refusing them the ability to collect damages.

Today's LA Times details the ways various religious groups are attempting to hasten the "End Times," from Iran preparing the way for the Mahdi to the Mississippi farmer trying to produce the "perfect red heifer."

When Christian Churches do this, it's called "youth outreach." When Scientologists try it, it's evil cultists snaring children with promises of free tutoring. Is it still too much to ask parents to pay attention to what their children are doing?
