The Eye of Horus

Designed to resemble the eye of a falcon, this symbol is called the Eye of Ra or Eye of Horus represents the right eye of the Egyptian Falcon God Horus. As the udjat (or utchat), it represented the sun, and was associated with the Sun God Ra (Re).
The mirror image, or left eye, represented the moon, and the God Tehuti (Thoth). (A very similar concept of the sun and moon as eyes appears in many religious traditions)

Sorry, but anyone who thinks this was designed to look like the eye of a falcon has never seen a falcon. Also, it is probably indicative of the falcon judgement that shown is the LEFT eye, not the right eye.
The Right Eye of Horus represents concrete factual information controlled by the left brain. It deals with words, letters, and numbers and those things which are describable in terms of sentences or complete thoughts. It approaches the universe in terms of male oriented ideation.
The Left Eye of Horus represents abstract aesthetic information controlled by the right brain. It deals with esoteric thoughts and feelings and is responsible for intuition. It approaches the universe in terms of female oriented ideation. We use the Left Eye, female oriented, right side of our brain for feeling and intuition.
Actually, if you troubled yourself to look at egyptian representations of the hawk, mthe eye design is self-evident. The right brain/left brain idea is irrelevant; it was not a concept the egyptians were familiar with.
Actually it looks very much like th hawk.
It is hard to but 21st century “logic” to pre-centuty anything.
I suspect the very original meaning might have been very “pure” as compared to later, and added on, meanings.
There is a wonderful double novel called Eye of Horus which includes an ancient Egyptian love story with a modern romance between some people involved in the investigation of a discovery of a strange mummy. Really good book. I’ve read it at least twice.
