Voodoo Day

Today is "Voodoo Day" in Benin, the last daqy of a ten-day festival honoring the African country's official religion. Thousands of practitioners from all over the world gather annually in the ancestral home of the Voodoo (Vodoun) religion to celebrate a faith that was outlawed until just a decade ago. The celebrations include ritual dancing, singing, sacrifices, baptisms, and bathing in sacred mud.
