"26 Occult Signs"
Wednesday May 30, 2007
How safe are we from the occult? As it turns out, not very safe at all. According to this extraordinarily silly article in Uganda's Sunday Monitor, danger lurks in every corner, with Satanism spreading through rock music, jewelry, and (of course) Harrry Potter. Symbols such as the "ying yang" [sic] and the "hexagram" are especially evil. Just owning on of the "26 occult signs" means that Satan is already in possession of your soul- or, as the article helpfully points out:
"no need not to wet your clothes and hair while holding your breath just to be in conference with the horned one"Good to know.
Update: the site has yanked the story, but you can still see the Google cache here.

No link? Sounds like a good read, but…
I think this guy is “safer” from the occult than he thinks, the same way that apes are safe from trigonometry.
Hilarious, Schaard…too true.
Did we read the same article? This was a review of a movie made by someone claiming to be a former Satanist. I thought the reviewer did a good job of stating the movie’s points and also the opposing viewpoints of others who thought it was all just so much nonsense.
I saw the same thing SDaniels did. This appears to be a review of a movie (Battle of the Souls) based on the life of a former Satanist (Roger Mushiga). I suppose its something of a docutainment film - similar to What the Bleep.
Nevertheless, I’m sure there will be plenty of eye-rolling to go around. I do love the symbol descriptions to the right of the article (in the pink bar). Not quite up to the standards Jennifer has set, but entertaining nonetheless.
I am Wiccan and proud of it. I worship nature and the God/dess. I do not hurt anyone or anything and you call me and my belief an occult. We are the oldest belief. We were here before the other religions. Please it’s not music, it’s not Harry Potter, it’s people who want to find the worst in anything they are afaid of and don’t want to find out about. I teach my children not to judge anyone on the bases of beliefs, color, or sexaul perference. I wish the rest of the world would to, but that is not going to happen. The world looks at you if your different your evil. In the Bible it says,” Judge not unless you be judged.” It still happens everyday. Why?
There was no link. I wish I could enjoy some of the posts but I obviously don’t know what anyone is talking about.
So, they must have pulled the link…can’t see the rest of the story. Is there a web address we could see more of this? Thanks, S
I cannot find this article 26 occult signs on the Sunday Uganda News website.

Sorry, the article must have been yanked. The link on the website I just mentioned in comment above doesn’t go to the story either. Maybe Satan made them do it.

Seriously, I would have liked to have read the article, but perhaps it’s just as well it’s gone; no need to upsize the ol’ BP.
To Mary: Wicca is not the oldest religion, although humanity was certainly polytheistic, or animistic or simply Pagan, if you will, for thousands of years before the confused followers of a young Jewish man named Joshua barJoseph turned his capital execution for treason into martyrdom and created a cult called Christianity.
I believe you’ll find that Wicca was begun in the 1960s, building on both Alexandrian and Gardnerian Witchcraft. Don’t take things so personally; there’s nothing wrong with new religions, or old religions, for that matter! It’s the money-grubbing, power-brokering, Jacks-in-the-pulpit cleverly disguised as “men of the cloth” that are causing the ill-feeling among people of all faiths. Three-fold Blessings!
