Honk if You're Pious

It seems even the pope uis annoyed by boorish behavior on the road- either that, or someone gave himj one of those "WWJD" bumper stickers- his "Guidelines for the Pastoral Care of the Road" (huh?) contains the Vaticans "10 commandments" of the road, covering everything from rudeness to road rage to "vanity" cars. Best line is Cardinal Renato Martino's:
"Asked at a news conference when a car became an occasion of sin, Cardinal Renato Martino said "when a car is used as a place for sin." (Which runs the gamut from passing improperly to picking up prostitutes, apparently)
No word on those chrome fish.

I’m a driving instructor, and I’m appalled at the thought of anyone’s being seen to be praying behind the wheel — especially if they’re reciting the rosary!
Driving needs one’s complete and total attention! Counting beads and trying to get the attention of whichever diety whose presence you crave should be grounds for losing your license.
Prayer has its place. The driver’s seat is not it.
Look at the figures for road deaths in Italy and europe as a whole. If a public figure, religious or otherwise tries to change those figures for the better by exersizing their influence in the public arena I see no reason to complain about them.
If you dont like roman catholicism there are plenty things to be pointed out to discredit its stance as a religion of the people, this IMO is not one of them.
