Soccer and Witchcraft

South Africa's Citizen has a fascinating article about an admittedly obscure practice- the use of witchcraft rituals ("Muti," a folk practice akin to American Hoodoo) by African soccer teams and players. The article discusses various rituals and compares them to the superstitions and religious ritual employed by European teams, and conclude there's not much difference, even if Westerners find it distasteful.
