All Lose

An inclusive policy regarding religious symbolism led to my own hometown of Olean, New York becoming the first to host a civic display that included Pagan symbols. Unfortunately, the Wiccan pentacle erected outside Olean City Hall lasted only a few days before being nearly destroyed by vandals (twice), and now all of the site's symbols, including a nativi9ty scene, have been removed to private property amidst threats, protests, and general ill will.
It's heartbreaking to see such ugly behavior the one time of year people should be trying their hardest to get along.

How sad that the people who preach goodness and sing “Peace on Earth, Good Will Toward Men” don’t behave as though they believe it. Do they realize how hypocritical it makes them appear?
Wow, and to think that the five-pointed star was highly regarded as a symbol of faith during the good-ol’ Gnostic days of early Christianity. Ignorance, fear, and tyranny must be opposed by all who understand the meaning of Universal Truth.
You think we got ugly behavior now? Hah! Congress just gave the Uglies a legal booster shot!
Strap in and hang on!
Sad behavior by all. To think… Christians were once fed to the lions… And why did that practice stop? So that they can become what those were that treated them so badly?
I guess it’s because hope springs eternal but I can’t help but hope that those who feel the need to destroy are just obnoxious punks stirring up trouble. On second thought that’s even more than I can hope for. Oh well. Happy Yule, y’all!
People will never change unfortunately, they fear what they do not know or understand instead of except people for who they are the funny thing is that probably all who destroyed those symbols probably know someone or have talked to someone who is wiccan or pagan and had not even realised it people seam to be blind to the fact that we are human just like them..
Just destructive punk kids that hate Christians hoping Christians will get the blame.
If anyone of us had gone out in front of those vandals, and proclaimed our beliefs, would they have thrown stones at us or burned us at the stake?
Have we really not moved on much since the Witch Burning Times?
