Aum Shinrikyo means "supreme truth." This is the group behind the sarin nerve gas attacks on the Japanese subway; they have also been implicated in the murders of a critic and his family, and an uncooperative member. After the conviction of the group leader and several members, this group (now operating under the name "Beth") now claims to be peaceful.
