Abramelin
Commonly known as Abramelin the Mage, Abra Melin was a pseudo-historical wandering Eastern sage whose magick is supposedly enshrined in the fourteenth century book, The Sacred Magick of Abramelin the Mage, a highly- esteemed Grimoire containing a detailed and precise system of Ritual Magick. The authorship is attributed to one "Abraham the Jew," an equally mythical character. The Book of Abramelin is probably the most 'practically' used of the old grimoires. Abramelin Oil is used in Thelemic and other rituals. It was dubbed "Abramelin" oil by Aleister Crowley, who adapted his own version of the biblical recipe he found in the Grimoire "The sacred Magick of Abramelin the Mage." Abramelin consistes of varying proportions of cinnamon, myrrh, galangal (a root related to gturmeric), and olive oil.
