According
to most astrologers, the "Age of Aquarius" will begin with an astronomical
event, when the constellation Aquarius rises on the horizon at the
spring equinox. This phenomena is known as the Precession
of the equinoxes,
with each cycle lasting about two thousand years. We are currently in the
Age of Pisces according to this system.
Some believe
Mithraism to be based on the
procession from Taurus to Aries, with the taurobolium
presented as a pictorial representation of this event.
