Amen is
a notariqon (kabbalistic acronym)
of the Hebrew phrase Adonai Melekh
Na'amon, "Lord, faithful King." In common use, it
means 'so be it', 'Let it be
done,' etc. May be related to the Egyptian Amun, and the Hindu Om (Aum).
