In Norse Pagan (Asatru) lore, Asgard is the principal abode of the Aesir, and one of the nine worlds of Norse Cosmology. The halls of Asgard were built by the Frost Giant Hrimthurs, who disguised himself as an ordinary stonemason. Asgard is linked to Midgard, the world of man, by Bifrost, the rainbow bridge.
