The Bogomils werea medieval Gnostic sect from the Balkan regions. Considered by some to be the first Protestants, the Bogomils offered asylum to the Cathars fleeing the Albigensian crusades. The Bogomils largely disappeared during the Muslim occupation of Bosnia.
