Also known as the Book of coming forth by Day, and the Papyrus of Ani, the Book of the Dead is an ancient Egyptian practical manual for surviving the afterlife. The spells and rituals contained in the book were to help the deceased navigate the trials and ordeals of the underworld and avoid annhilation.
