Infamous
occultist of the nineteenth and twentieth century, Aleister Crowley is
best known for reviving the Ordo
Templi Orientis,
and as the author of many books, including the Magick
in Theory and Practice, The
Book of the Law, and The Book
of Lies.
He was an accomplished Ritual magician, but unfortunately enjoyed his reputation
as a libertine, clouding his reputation with rumors of orgies, drugs, and
other goings on. Contrary to popular rumour, Crowley was not a Satan worshipper,
nor did he perform human (or animal) sacrifices.
