Druid
The word Druid, the name of the Celtic Priestly class, is compounded from the Gaelic words for oak and wise- a Druid was one who was "Oak Wise," guardian of the doorway.* In both the ancient Celtic society and in modern Druid groups, the Druid is one of the tripartate divisions of the social order.
