Elementals
Salamanders, the elemental spirits of fire, Undines, the spirits of water, Sylphs, the inhabitants of the air, and gnomes, the inhabitants of earth. Sixteenth century alchemist Paracelsus, who first proposed the existence of elementals, describes them as creatures who have subtle physical bodies; however, these bodies are not of the same dense substance as human corporeal bodies. The elementals could move about, procreate, etc.; but being made of subtler stuff, can not be seen by human beings, who are limited by their denser form.
