In Voodoo/Vodoun, the Gros Bon Ange (French, "Great good Angel)" is the enduring or immortal soul. The Ti Bon Ange or "Little Good Angel" is the animating force or consciousness and ceases to exist at death. It is the ti bon ange that leaves the body when it is possessed by the Lwa.
