Definition 1: The Order or Sikh initiates founded by Guru Gobind Singh in 1699; also, a fully initiated Sikh believer. Khalsa Sikhs are held to a high standard of personal conduct.

Definition 2: The observance of five Sikh dress rituals, often referred to as the "five K's" (Kakkars) :

Kesa, or uncut hair, as a reminder to do no harm to the body. Male Sikhs wear their hair in a turban.
Kacha, a special undergarment, as a symbol of marital chastity.
Carrying:
The Kanga, a wooden comb, symbolizing cleanliness.
The Kara, a steel bracelet, signifying devotion to truth.
The Kirpan, or ceremonial dagger, symbolizing the protection of the weak and helpless.
