Mizraim is an archaic name given to Egypt by the Hebrews; it refers to the descendants of Ham, the son of Noah. The name is still used in Freemasonry to refer to the Hermetic "Egyptian Rite," or Rite of Mizraim, founded in the eighteenth century by Count Alessandro Cagliostro.
