A Poppet is a simply constructed doll of cloth or wax (sometimes, just a head on a peg) used in the practice of sympathetic folk magic. The doll is meant to represent a person, and may be decdorated with a person's clothes, filled with their hair or nail clippings, etc. The practice is most often associated with voodoo, but is actualy a western European practice.
