The Holy Grail

Boaz, in biblical lore, is the left pillar (with Jachim on the right) in the Temple of Solomon. It is best known for its use in Masonic rites, and it is also equivalent to the left pillar on the kabbalistic Tree of Life, severity.

In Kabbalistic writings, Boaz represents the female polarity of the universe, and the qualities of darkness, passivity, receptivity, and silence. The pillars are similar in concept to the Eastern Yin Yang.
