Because the Baha'i Faith first evolved out of Shi'a Islam, the Baha'is view of God is most similar to that of Muslims. An in other monotheistic faiths, the Baha'is view God as omnipresent (in all places) and omnipotent (all-knowing).
However, the Baha'i God is a distant, unknowable God. Baha'is do not call him Father, nor do they see themselves as his children, as is common among Christians. Instead, they commonly describe themselves as servants or slaves (depending on the translation) of God as Muslims do.
Absolute Reality Vs. Human Perspective
Baha'u'llah described God as the Absolute Reality. Because humanity is limited to finite understandings, no human will ever be able to view or comprehend this Absolute Reality. Instead, he can only see portions of it through his own personal perspective.Differences in doctrine between different religions therefore stem from our own very limited understandings and view of God. Thus, conflict over doctrinal differences is unnecessary and ultimately only destructive. Baha'is accept that all of the great world religions teach incomplete glimpses of the Absolute Reality shaped by cultural perspective.
Communication Between God And Humanity
So beyond human comprehension is God that he is not directly knowable. However, it is God's wish that he and his expectations are known by humanity. Toward this end, he periodically creates beings known as Manifestations of God through which he guides us via evolving revelation, meaning that every Manifestation teaches perspectives, lessons, and expectations that are applicable for the time and place of the revelation.
Depictions of God
Because God is limitless, he cannot be accurately represented by any means. This is part of the reason why Muslims and Jews have strict prohibitions against visual depictions of him. But religions do describe God, including Judaism and Islam, in a variety of ways.Baha'is explain such descriptions as reflections of the Manifestation associated with the religion in question. When the Torah describes God as jealous, it is understood that this quality was actually seen in Adam, Noah, Abraham, or Moses, all of whom are recognized as Manifestations by Baha'is.
