Daemon

By Catherine Beyer, About.com

Definition: Western Occultists commonly believe in a wide variety of ephemeral entities. These beings may be good (angels), bad (devils), or indifferent (planetary souls) in nature, and together they are often referred to as daemons. Thus, the term should not be confused with demons, who are generally roughly equivalent to devils and as such specifically malevolent in intention.
