The Jedi Creed
A Code of Belief For Jedi

By , About.com Guide

Many Jedi embrace the Jedi Creed. Some refer to it as the Jedi Code, but this website will continue to refer to it as the Jedi Creed to avoid confusion with another document.

Jedi are the guardians of peace in the Galaxy.
Jedi use their powers to defend and protect, never to attack others.
Jedi respect all life, in any form.
Jedi serve others rather than rule over them, for the good of the Galaxy.
Jedi seek to improve themselves through knowledge and training.

Source Material

The Jedi Creed originates in the Star Wars novels. It is considered the code of the New Republic Jedi, embraced in the time after Luke Skywalker rebuilds the Jedi Order. In contrast, the Jedi Code is the code of the Old Republic Jedi.
